Career

Lydia joined The Productivity Institute in April 2026 as Head of Operations, returning to The University of Manchester after three and a half years working elsewhere in the Higher Education sector.

She brings extensive experience from across Higher Education, having worked in both Russell Group and Post-92 universities, leading operational teams and supporting senior leadership to deliver strategic change.

Her portfolio includes involvement in major institutional initiatives, such as the University’s opening of the Nancy Rothwell Building, one of the largest construction projects undertaken by a UK higher education institution, and a Directorate-wide review and improvement programme.

Lydia holds a degree in Law from The University of Manchester and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
