Career

Josh Martin is an Economic Advisor to Alan Taylor at the Bank of England. He previously worked at the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), most recently as Head of Productivity statistics, responsible for overseeing the publication of all regular productivity statistics. Josh also worked on a range of productivity-related topics at ONS, including firm-level analysis, public service productivity, multifactor productivity, and measuring capital, including intangible assets. He researches the measurement of productivity, including hard-to-measure activities. He is a research associate with the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE), and a member of the International Advisory Committee for the International Productivity Monitor. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham, and an MSc in Data Analytics for Government from the University of Southampton
