Darcy Luke is a Research Associate at The Productivity Institute, based in the Department of Politics, University of Manchester. As part of The Productivity Institute’s Institutions and Governance theme, Darcy’s research explores the extent to which productivity growth is constrained by the UK’s institutional landscape. Between 2020 and 2024, Darcy worked for a Member of Parliament as a Constituency and Parliamentary Assistant. Previously, Darcy worked as a Teaching Assistant and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where he also completed his PhD in Political Science. His research interests include British politics, the political economy of public expenditure, the politics of labour movements, and methodological approaches and issues in political science. Darcy’s articles have been published in the British Journal of Politics and International Relations, the Third World Quarterly, European Political Science, the Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour and Capital & Class.
