Productivity for Major Infrastructure Development

The transition to a more sustainable economy and society will require much increased levels of investment in economic infrastructure, particularly for energy, transportation, and water. Yet, this is an underperforming area of the economy in productivity terms. This research will deepen understanding of the causes of that poor performance by investigating productivity on the Thames Tideway major project, engaging with senior leaders in the sector, and developing decision support materials by which productivity performance can enter into the investment decision-making of project owners with respect to their suppliers.
