Professor Anna Vignoles

Anna Vignoles is the Director of the Leverhulme Trust and a Productivity Fellow for the Policy Unit

Career

Anna Vignoles is the Director of the Leverhulme Trust. Previously, she held positions as Professor of Education and Fellow of Jesus College at the University of Cambridge, Professor of Economics of Education at the UCL Institute of Education, and Research Fellow at the London School of Economics Centre for Economic Performance.

A leading academic, Vignoles’ research has focused on equity, value, and social mobility in education. Her work explores the relationship between educational achievement and social mobility, as well as the role of education and skills in the economy and society. She has published extensively on these topics.

Vignoles has served on the boards of several prominent organizations, including the Nuffield Foundation, the Economic and Social Research Council, and the Sutton Trust. She was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2017 and awarded a CBE in 2019 for her contributions to the social sciences.
