Catherine L. Mann’s career spans policy, academic, and the private sector, all with an emphasis on international dimensions of economic policy and performance. Her current position is as an External Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England (appointed in September 2021) and Honorary Professor at Alliance Manchester Business School.
Prior to this, she was the Global Chief Economist at Citibank (2018-2021), Chief Economist and G20 Finance Deputy at the OECD (2014-2017), and the Barbara ’54 and Richard M. Rosenberg Professor of Global Finance at the International Business School, Brandeis University (2006-2014). She spent 20-plus years in Washington, DC where positions included Senior Fellow at the Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics; Assistant Director in the International Finance Division at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors; Senior International Economist on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers; and Adviser to the Chief Economist at the World Bank.
