National Productivity Week 2026 – Better outcomes for people, firms and places

National Productivity Week will return from 27 April – 1 May 2026, bringing together researchers, policymakers, business leaders, and practitioners for a nationwide programme of events focused on improving productivity and delivering better outcomes for people, firms and places.

New Evidence and Insights from Across the UK

Now in its third edition, National Productivity Week 2026 will highlight the latest evidence on the factors shaping productivity across the UK. The week will showcase new reports from TPI’s seven research programmes, covering skills, job design, business innovation, finance and investment, urban productivity, and the diffusion of knowledge and capabilities.

A series of flagship events will anchor the week, including events in London and Manchester, and a dedicated podcast series around each of the three pillars: People, Firms and Places. These activities will be complemented by a broad range of regional events delivered by TPI’s nine Productivity Forums, each bringing local perspectives and priorities into the national conversation.

Supporting Better Outcomes for People, Firms and Places

National Productivity Week 2026 aims to provide practical insights and fresh thinking for anyone working to strengthen the UK’s economic performance – from business leaders navigating digital and net-zero transitions, to policymakers focused on local growth, to researchers examining the UK’s long-standing productivity challenges.

A National Conversation on Productivity

Professor Bart van Ark, Managing Director of The Productivity Institute, said: “National Productivity Week is about bringing research, policy and practice together in a way that is practical, relevant and forward-looking. With new evidence from across our programmes and strong engagement from partners across the country, National Productivity Week 2026 will help deepen understanding of what drives productivity and how we can translate it into real benefits for people, businesses and places.”
