There are numerous developments that are raising questions about changes in how we work. Covid 19 moved a significant amount of activity to working from home, digital technologies feature in how we work, and the demands of the economy and those of workers have fostered in more flexible working practices. There are also wider concerns such as levels of sickness raising not only public health but also to wellbeing at work concerns. The culture of work is changing, not only in terms of practices but also what work means for employees and managers. This is important because what work means for people influences motivation at work and the appetite to develop new skills as well as business ability to attract and retain employees. To date, research and practise has tended to address each these areas in isolation, the aim of this workshop is to address how aspects of work combine to create to unlock the potential within the economy.
